In late November to early December 2022, Mauna Loa on the Big Island erupted suddenly from Vent 3 and briefly threatened the Daniel K. Inouye Highway. I spent 24 hours on site from Dec. 1 to Dec. 2, capturing still images, video and time lapses. Here is some of what I saw. Please come back as I will be adding more photos and time-lapse videos.
